Google Chromecast app for iOS goes global, hardware yet to follow

Google's $35 Chromecast dongle is still officially U.S. only, but the companion app for iOS – along with its Android cousin – has at least gone global. We're seeing it ourselves in the UK and Canada, but reports suggest that it stretches far and wide beyond.

Without the hardware to use it with, the app on its own is pretty useless. But, with regional restriction lifted in so many countries at once, it would suggest we might be seeing international availability sometime in the not-too-distant future. At least in the meantime those of us non-Americans who sourced a Chromecast can get the app with relative ease.
